Security

The main entrance door to your property is to a full British Standard specification and is also fire compliant. It is fitted with 3 hinges, a Euro Cylinder Sash Lock with a thumb turn and a spyhole for your security. Front doors to the property cannot be replaced without seeking advice from the Managing Agent, Centrick, as this could jeopardise the fire integrity of your property. Please contact the Managing Agent, Centrick for their procedure on how to apply for consent to change the front door to your property.

Intercom System

There is an individual video intercom system within your property that is linked to the main entrance doors to the development. This allows each resident control of visitors into the building. In order to prevent security issues within the development, please do not provide access to anyone who you are not familiar with.

Fire Safety

A hard-wired smoke detector that has a battery back-up is located within each property. There is also a hard-wired heat alarm that has a battery back-up fitted within the kitchen of each property. The alarms are interlinked throughout the whole development to ensure safety and peace of mind for all occupants.

You should regularly test the detectors by pressing the button on the device and also ensure that the batteries are changed regularly to allow for the detectors to work to their optimum. For your own safety, smoke detectors and heat alarms should not be removed from their fixtures or covered and also need to be well maintained.

There is a full sprinkler system installed into the whole building and within each property. The sprinkler system is designed to activate with the presence of high levels of heat from a fire. The heat from the blaze would then melt the sensor which in turn would activate the sprinkler, discharging water at a rate to contain the fire. Should there be a fire that is affecting the whole building, then the sprinkler system will activate throughout.

The information board located within the reception will provide you with information on where the emergency exits are, as well as the fire emergency procedure for the development. Please ensure that you familiarise yourself with this information. For further information, please contact the Managing Agent, Centrick.

Lift – New Eton House

The lift is located on every floor of the development near the reception area.

Lift doors must not be wedged open or held for any period of time, as this can cause them to malfunction. Please take the appropriate precautions when transporting large and bulky items such as furniture within the lift, in order to prevent damage from being caused. In the event of a fire, please do not use the lift.

If you experience any issues within the lift, then please dial the emergency number using the internal lift alarm instructions or contact the Managing Agent, Centrick without delay. Any general maintenance issues with the lift should be reported to the Managing Agent, Centrick.

 

Local Information – New Eton House

Slough Local Information

Slough is a large town in the county of Berkshire and the local area is home to many restaurants, attractions and leisure facilities. These include: The Curve, Stoke Park & St George’s Chapel to name just a few.

The beautiful historic town of Windsor is a just 15-minute drive from the New Eton House development and is home to Windsor Castle, which is a residence of the British Royal Family.

Food and Drink

There are a variety of establishments located near the development which offer a fine dining experience if you’re looking to celebrate a special occasion or maybe just something a little bit more casual. The majority of the restaurants and eateries are either located within close proximity to the development or at the local retail parks and shopping centres.

Entertainment

Montem Leisure Centre is just a 5-minute drive from the development and offers access to a swimming pool, gym and also a variety of activities and classes.

Slough Ice Arena is short car journey away from New Eton House and as well as having an ice rink, there is also a climbing wall with a ‘Clip ‘n Climb’ feature, gym, cafe and skate shop.

Shopping and Retail

There are 4 main shopping centres which are located within a short distance from New Eton House. These include: Slough Retail Park, Westgate Retail Park, Royal Shopping Centre and Queensmere Observatory Shopping Centre. Each of these shopping centres and retail parks contains a multitude of shops and eateries and has something for everyone whether you are looking for just a day out, a quick shopping trip or an all out splurge.

Recreation

Black Park covers over 500 acres of woodland and heath-land and offers a range of family friendly attractions, such as the adventure playground and Go-Ape. Church Wood Nature Reserve is a tranquil woodland over 35 acres, which is perfect for a quiet stroll.

Langley Park is steeped in history and an important haven for wildlife. The stunning Rhododendron collection in the Temple Gardens is an explosion of colour from April to June, with views to Windsor Castle and beyond. There is a fantastic tea room serving hot and cold snacks and homemade cakes, a children’s play garden, arboretum and history and tree trails.

Education

There are a number of reputable schools and universities close to the development including: Brunel University London, The Windsor Forest College, University of Reading and Cippenham Nursery School.

Post Box – New Eton House

Post boxes for all of the properties are located within the main entrance reception area of the development.

If you require a replacement post box key, then you will need to contact the Managing Agent, Centrick to place an order for a replacement. Replacement post box keys are chargeable by the Managing Agent, Centrick and you are responsible for paying the additional cost incurred.

Windows & External Doors – New Eton House

External Doors

The main double doors on the front of the building are kept permanently closed and locked by means of overhead door closers and magnetic locks. The doors can be released by:

– Placing your pedestrian access fob against the control panel outside the main entrance door.

– Pressing the door release to the side of the door from inside the reception area.

– Pressing the door release button on the intercom phone within your property to allow access; when the video entry system inside the property has been activated by a visitor from the control panel outside the building.

Please note that the fire escapes in the development must be kept locked and must only be used in the event of a fire.

Windows

The windows in your property are a combination of either existing or secondary glazed new powder coated aluminium units. 

The internal cleaning of the windows is the responsibility of the occupier and must be carried out in a safe manner. The external cleaning of the windows is the responsibility of the Managing Agent, Centrick

Door Entry System

There is a video entry intercom system within the property which is linked to the external intercom on the main entrance doors. These provide each occupier with control of visitors entering the building. Please do not provide access to anyone you are not familiar with; in order to prevent security issues within the building.

Fobs

For your security, the building is accessed via a fob entry system to the main entrance/external doors. Each occupant will have their own access fob.

Please contact the Managing Agent, Centrick should you require a replacement or an additional fob and they will confirm the cost for this service.

Fridge/Freezer

The fridge/freezer should be defrosted every six months to maintain an excellent working condition and prevent the build-up of ice. When de-frosting the fridge freezer, please ensure that there is no resting water on the housing unit as this will cause damage. You may want to protect the unit with dry clothes to avoid this from happening.

If the fridge/freezer is not working, please ensure that the appliance is turned on at the multi-switch panel located in your kitchen. Please make sure that it is on by pressing the switch down. If the fridge/freezer still does not work, please check that the consumer unit has not tripped out. All of the switches should be in the upwards position.
